Well, my next post was supposed to be an update on my Marion for the MarionKAL but, this is much more fun! So, Andi asked us to name our favorite Fall sweater, which was not an easy task for me. But, after much debate with myself I will reveal my favorite Fall sweater at the end of this post.
I just want to say that I used to dread Fall season. It meant going back to school and cold weather coming in. However, when I started knitting this all changed. I feel like now my entire year is prepping for my Fall/Winter knits. Then, I get so excited when the season changes so, I can finally wear my favorite pullovers. So, let’s get started.
Oh yeah, I had fun trying on different outfit combinations as you will see 😉
Well, after much debate I did decide on my favorite Fall sweater. I took into account how often the item is worn, the color, and the design features. It was a close call between Hetty.1 and Chuck. But in the end, Hetty in pink won. It’s in my favorite color, it’s worn once a week, and the lace design is the most beautiful thing.
This was fun! I can’t wait to see everyone’s #favoritefallsweater.
I finished my second Hetty in red this past Sunday and wore it this past Wednesday. Of course, I adore it and the color is perfect. I find that red is one of the most versatile colors and can really accent an outfit.
I don’t have much to say about this because it is a pattern that I have created before. See my first Hetty post for other details. I will say that this is my favorite knit pattern to date. It does require a bit more commitment than a simple stockinette stitch cardigan but, the end result is so worth it. The yarn is also a yarn that I’ve used before and that I like so, nothing has changed there.
Needle: Size 8 (5mm)
Yarn – Knit Picks Wool of the Andes
Extra Thoughts: The MarionKAL is currently underway and I have not done a gauge swatch or cast on. I’m such a slacker. I need to handle that tonight…
Now, that I finally got Hetty off the needles, I can think about my Marion cardigan for the MarionKAL. In the previous post, I mentioned that I wanted to participate in the MarionKAL. And yes, I have already knit Marion in purple but, it was with a yarn that I loathed. So, I am excited about knitting another in a yarn I like.
Initially, I was going to go with another bright color. Then, I decided to go with grey. Simply because it is so versatile and nice to look at. (I also had encouragement from my fellow Instagrammers to go with this color.) I will be using Cascade220 in silver grey.
My yarn arrived this past Friday. I really like the look of it and can just imagine the finished cardigan.
I haven’t really checked out the craft stores here in Durham, yet. So, my buttons came from Wal-Mart. However, I really like them and I thinks its going to compliment the cardigan really well.
I’ll keep you posted on the progress…
Extra Thoughts: Hopefully, I will be able to get some pretty decent pictures of my finished Hetty.2 cardigan. I no longer have my vast array of photographers so, I’m on my own. I may need to invest in a tripod/timer thingy.
